Dr. Prachi Unmesh Mahajan, did her surgical traning at BYL Nair Hospital,Mumbai and at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital,UK. She completed her FRCS and worked in the disciplines of breast oncosurgery and surgical gastroenterology at various hospitals in the United Kingdom. She has completed her fellowship in Minimal Accesss (Laparoscopic) Surgery and Bariatric (Obesity)Surgery. She is a leading surgeon practising in Nagpur since the past of 12 years and is well known for her surgical skills, evidence-based scientific and ethical approach to patients.

About me

I am a surgeon, working in the field of Breast Oncosurgery and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in Nagpur since the past two decades. I have extensive experience in laparoscopic hernia surgery, solid organ surgery, GI anastomosis, Bariatric Surgery, pelvic tumors, hyadatid cysts, thoracoscopic decortication, laparoscopic colorectal surgery for various benign and malignant conditions. I have been performing surgeries for benign and malignant breast tumors, including Breast Conservation Surgeries and Oncoplasty. I believe in constantly upgrading my knowledge and surgical skills, in order to be able to provide the best outcomes for my patients. Among the very few female surgeons in Central India, I have a very satisfied patient community over the years and I am always approachable for their problems. I completed my MBBS from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and Sion Hospital, Mumbai, MS from TNMC and Nair Hospital, Mumbai. I went on to the UK and passed the prestigious FRCS examination and worked in the Countess of Chester Hospital, Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Wirral NHS trust, where I worked in Specialist Breast and GI Surgery units. I have been a popular teacher after returning to India in 2002 when I was a Lecturer in Surgery at IGGMC, Nagpur and Reader at Nagpur College of Homeopathy. I am available at Mahajan Ortho and Surgical Hospital, Dhantoli, Nagpur and at a few other hospitals in Nagpur. My main aim is to provide the best surgical treatment to all my patients, i believe in scientific ethical practices and am also actively involved in breast cancer awareness initiatives, patient education and obesity awareness programs. I am President Elect of the Association of Surgeons of Nagpur, Vice President of the Association of Medical Women in Nagpur and an active member of Indian Medical Association. I am the recipient of the Margret Oddsdottir International Travelling Fellowship, 2019 of SAGES, USA. I am a fitness enthusiast, a blogger and singer. i firmly believe in a holistic approach to life and in living life to the fullest.
