DR. INDRAJIT MITRA STATE LEVEL SURGICAL QUIZ – 2019
Association of Surgeons, Nagpur organised the 22nd Dr. Indrajit Mitra State level Surgical Quiz on 25th August, 2019. The quiz is held for the undergraduate medical student, to inculcate an interest in subject. This year a record number of 18 teams from all over Maharashtra and one team from Chhattisgarh (AIIMS Raipur) took part. Dr. P. Arora, Dr. D. Saxena, Dr. P. Bhowate, Dr. G. Deshpande, Dr. A. Despande and Dr. P. Bansode conducted the quiz. Chief Guest Dr. P. K. Deshpande an emient surgeon, spoke on the occasion. Dr. S. Dasgupta, Director RST cancer institute, Nagpur, and the patron of the event spoke on the history of event. Dr. Mrunalini Borkar was the MOC and Dr. Bhutani, Dr. Nirmal Patle and Dr. B. Tirpude managed the whole event successfully.
Dr. T. R. V. Wilkinson, President of Association of Surgeons, gave away the prizes as: Winner – Jawaharlal Nehru Medical Collage, Sawangi. First Runner up – NKPSIMS and RC, Hingna. Second Runner up – Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Science, Sewagram. Dr. Rajiv Sonarkar, Secretory of the Association proposed a vote of thanks. About 150 students and doctors were present for the event, which was followed by lunch.
INSTALLATION CEREMONY : 2019-20
Installation Ceremony of Dr. T.R.V. Wilkinson as President and his Team of Office Bearers for year 2019-20. President Dr. T.R.V. Wilkinson and his team Installed On 7th April 2019 Sunday, Association of Surgeons Nagpur (ASN) installed its new team under Dr. T.R.V. Wilkinson along with and 17th Silver Jubilee MASICON oration with CME. The Programm was started at 9.30 am. Masters of Ceremony were Dr. Divish Saxena and Dr. Gayatri Despande. For installation, Chief Guest was Dr. Ashish Satav (MBBS, MD, Chief functionary of MAHAN trust). The Guest of Honours were Dr. Ramesh Ardhanari (MS, MCH, FRCH, Head Surgical Gastroenterology Madurai), Dr. Dilip Gode (MBBS, MS, Past President ASI) and Dr. Sunil Agrawal (MBBS, MS, Head vascular surgery department, CMC vellore). In installation program, Dr. Ashish Satav and Dr. Gode addressed the gathering and Dr. Singhania gave his presidential speech. Dr. Bisvas (Ophthalmologist) from Calcutta introduced new president Dr. T.R.V. Wilkinson. Dr. Sushil Lohiya gave his secretory report and Dr. Rajiv Sonarkar gave the vote of thanks. Mr. Ashish Sharma gave motivational talk on running and jogging to keep a healthy life style. Then at 12 noon Dr. Ramesh Ardhanari presented 17th Silver Jubilee Masicon oration on topic WHY SURGEONS SHOULD LEARN ENDOSCOPY. Chairperson were Dr. Raj Gajbhiye, Dr. M. Akhtar, Dr. Prashant Rahate. Dr. P. Rahate gave brief introduction regarding masicon oration followed by citation was orated by Dr. Akhtar. At. 1.00 pm, Dr. Sunil Arawal gave key note address on topic ABC OF VASCULAR TRAUMA. Chairperson were Dr. Sunil Lanjewar, Dr. S Dasgupt, Dr. R. Singhania. At.1.30 pm, guest lecture was delivered by Dr. Ashish Satav on topic TRIBLE HEALTH PROBLEM AND SOLUTIONS – HOW ASN CAN HELP. Chairperson were Dr. B.S. Gedam, Dr B.B Gupta, Dr. R. Singvi. The installation ceremony was followed by CME, which has been accredited 1 Point by Maharashtra Medical Council. Dr. Avadush Ray was the MMC Observer. This Program was attended by 250 delegates.
