Installation Ceremony of the New Team of office - 2023-24

On Sunday, 16th of April 2023 Installation Ceremony of the New Team of office bearers of Association of Surgeons, Nagpur (ASN) for the year 2023-2024 along with CME was conducted successfully at Hotel Center Point, Nagpur, from 09.00 am to 02.00 pm. More than150 delegates from Vidharbha attended the ceremony. Dr Raj N Gajbhiye, Dean GMC, Nagpur was Chief Guest of the ceremony. Dr Shailesh V Shrikhande, Deputy Director, TMH, Mumbai graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor. After Samai Lighting, outgoing president Dr Nilesh Junankar gave Welcome Address. Dr Ghanshyam Chude presented Secretary’s Report.

At the hands of the Chief Guest and Guest of Honor, Dr Prachi Mahajan as President, Dr Mrinalini Borkar as Hon. Secretary along with the team of office bearers was installed. ‘Souvenir Edition’ of ‘UPSURGE’, the e-magazine published by ASN was released at the hands of guests. Dr Dilip Gode, Past president of ASI was felicitated for being appointed by MUHS as Chair Professor for Chair, Tribal Health Development. Dr B.S. Gedam, Professor Surgery and a senior teacher was also felicitated for his dedication and passion for surgery and teaching. Dr Prachi Mahajan delivered 1st ‘Presidential Deliberation on ‘Being a Generalist’.
2nd Dr Arvind Joglekar Memorial Oration was delivered by Shailesh Shrikhande on ‘Evolution of Quality in GI Cancer Surgery’. Dr Atul Gawande (Assistat Administrator of USAID, Surgeon and renowned author) delivered the 21st Silver Jubilee Masicon Oration’ on ‘75 Years Of Transformation Of Global Health’, on virtual platform.
Dr U Chandak was MMC observer. MMC granted two credit points for this CME.
Dr Sushil Solanke and Dr Sonal Bhole were the Masters of ceremony.
Dr Mrinalini Borkar proposed ‘Vote of Thanks’.
